Jim's primary responsibilities include oversight of client services, and he is also involved in security selection and investment strategy for the firm. With more than 30 years of professional investment management experience, he co-founded Old Dominion Capital Management in 1989 after working as an investment broker with A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc. A graduate of the University of Virginia, he received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.
Jim first came to Charlottesville to attend the University of Virginia and has lived there ever since. Very active in the local music scene, he plays the fiddle in an old-time string band, Uncle Henry's Favorites, and has been involved with both the Country Dance and Song Society and Pinewoods Camp, Inc. for years. Jim is also an amateur naturalist; he organizes a local spring bird count, participates in educational events for the public, and is researching dragonfly species in Albemarle County.
